Rev. Herman Noll will be our evangelist on Sep. 30 through Oct. 2. Rev. Noll was a frequent speaker in the church in the 1980's. His powerful revival messages encouraged many to deepen their faith and others were introduced to our gracious Savior for the first time. I used to think how fortunate I was to have two living grandmothers. Between the two of them they carried 180 years of experience in weathering hardship, both physical and financial. I lost both in the beginning of this year. All of the sudden the possibility of a repeat of the Great Depression seems more scary. Today many things have changed, technology has added internet, broadband, dial-up and many more terms to our vocabulary. Despite all the things that have changed, I see a church with a hunger to recapture the holiness fire it saw in times past and lacks the knowledge to find their way back. To disregard the wisdom and experiences of the saints would be a waste. Music may change, voices may change, but God does not change. Total dependency, total consecration, and the seeking of entire sanctification are still prerequisites to "take on the mind of Christ."
